A school saying "CBSE" on its board is not enough. Before you pay any fee, check that the school is affiliated and up to which class. It takes two minutes.
Step by step
- Ask the school for its CBSE affiliation number. Every affiliated school has one. On SchoolOps, it is shown on each CBSE school's profile.
- Open the official CBSE affiliation website, saras.cbse.gov.in, and go to the list of affiliated schools.
- Search by the affiliation number, or by state and district.
- Check that the school name and address match, and note the affiliation level: secondary (up to Class 10) or senior secondary (up to Class 12).
Watch out for
- A school that teaches "CBSE syllabus" but is not affiliated. Students may then have to appear for board exams through another school.
- A school affiliated only up to Class 10 that says it offers Class 11 and 12.
- A different name or address from the one registered with CBSE.
Browse schools with their affiliation numbers in the SchoolOps directory.
